Ecos de Chile at the Winchester Cultural Center on February 4, 2007. Ecos de Chile was created in 1998 as envisioned by Sonia Yáñez and Juan Vargas. Since then, the group has been the ambassador of Chilean music and dance throughout the Western United States. The group’s love of culture and tradition is reflected in every performance which includes vocals, colorful costumes, and instrumentals. Director Andrés Vargas arrived in Las Vegas 21 years ago. In Chile he had studied classic guitar, theory and solfeggio. In Chile he and his brother Juan, researched the less known Chilean folklore and compiled authentic music and instruments which characterized it. Dancers include Dance Director Carlos Silva, who studied folkloric dance in Chile during five years. He served as director and dancer in the folklore group of The Chilean Association Lautaro in Switzerland for nine years and then came to Las Vegas integrating himself to the group in its initial stage. moins
