After that, a series of 3 more surgeries followed, and only 12 weeks later I was discharged, with my small intestine entirely removed. Now, I can be fed only intravenously, or, by what is known as TPN. Without this liquid nutrition that goes directly in my blood, I would not survive. To save my life, I need a small bowel transplant.
